Wat Phutthaisawan

Wat Phutthaisawan

Wat Phutthaisawan is situated on Chaophraya riverbank, opposite to the south of the city island. It was constructed on the site in which King Ramathibodi I (King U-Thong) first settled before establishing Ayutthaya Capital City. This area is called "Wiang Laek". After the new Capital City had been established, King U-Thong then built Wat Phutthaisawan on the site that he first settled as a memorial.
